Sheela Bringi is a sacred music artist who sings and plays rāga harp, harmonium and bansuri. Though classically trained in the North Indian tradition, her unique way of weaving in heart vibes and traditions from around the world make her music a special experience. Sheela’s Indian vocals, soaring bansuri flute, and harp have graced 50+ world & chant albums (including the Grammy-nominated Bhakti Without Borders) and her music has been profiled by NBC News, NPR, Public Radio International, and others.
Clinton Patterson is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music has deep roots in Black Americana… from Spirituals all the way through to Soul and Hip Hop, but also stretching out to include rhythms and colors from traditions around the world. Hailing from SW Atlanta (SWATS) Clinton has been based in Los Angeles in since 2005 and has been a featured soloist on projects for ESPN, Rockstar Entertainment, Disney, and The RZA.
This special Corazon performance will pair Sheela Bringi’s “Rāga Harp” & Indian flute with Clinton Patterson’s “Temple Blues”, a recipe that is sure to result in an evening to remember!
The evening will begin with a re-imagining of a beautiful North Indian rāga featuring voice, harp, cello, and tabla. The music will then continue into a special set of songs in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Assamese with themes of inner light, darkness, transformation, and transcendence.
